fiberglass, benders, and bad acting

Had an excellent time this weekend, although I’m paying for it now by being almost too tired to think.

Friday night: dinner with my cousin at Cous Cous, hangouts at Empire and Ipanema.  Saturday: Midnight Society day trip to Dinosaur Land, Belle Grove, and Naked Mountain.  Then Matt Morton‘s “frat party” with Daron.   Sunday: breakfast with Maddie and Daron at the Border, then to the movies for Evan Almighty (it was cute), then to church, and later out to Commercial Taphouse for Prabir’s set, and back to the Border for drinks.  Pictures are up.

I think highlights included the gift shop at Dinosaur Land (trashy heaven, people.), masks in the car, frank talks, and laughing so hard at breakfast that my stomach was killing me.

Tired tired tired tired.  The whiskey decanter is empty, and as usual when Daron’s in town, the bender is unstoppable.  But some of us have to WORK in the morning.

Quote of the day actually goes to Prabir this time, circa two minutes ago: “if the only thing you have going for you is your ability to be rich and pretty….well then you deserve a trophy for being pointless”

There are several things that I’m avoiding thinking about right now, but one of them is Maddie’s impending move to Philadelphia.  I do not know what I am going to do.  The city of brotherly shove is taking my baby.

  1. I’m avoiding thinking about “pepperoni pizza baby!” and the unfortunate spectacle I’ve made of myself over the last 2 weeks.

Baby is going to get sad, BTW, if mommy doesn’t wait until drunk time to actually talk about her feelings.
