yoshimi battles the morning glories, etc.

Inspired, inspired lately.

I got rather sucked into ModCloth, which is a hard web site to escape from once you start looking around.  Now I don’t want a bunch of clones of myself showing up at Best Friends Day, but a lot of people have asked me about my bathing suit and I can’t give them much info because the lady who made it doesn’t sell clothes anymore.  But I found one on ModCloth that’s nearly identical to mine, so if you really are as in love with the suit as you said, pick one up!  I consider imitation to be the sincerest form of flattery.  In related news, city pools are now open and FREE to the public, so get on it!

In other news:

  • Had a cousin graduate high school
  • The Tidal Waves were doubly victorious this week
  • I took some mornings and evenings off from the gym / other activities in order to do some intense weeding in the backyard.  Thankful for compliments from the neighbors on the state of the yard(s)!
  • Learned some new things from VASPER’s Poe Museum tour.
  • Spent all day sewing on Saturday.  Fixed two dresses and made (and enjoyed) a hammock.
  • The RVABlogs meetup last night was great.  Had delicious tuna at Cous Cous and met new people, and engaged in delightful conversation.  In the words of Ross, “It was not nerdy at all!”
  • Kenny’s birthday pub crawl, for which I was saving my energy all weekend, did indeed prove to be a blast and to use up all the energy I had anticipated it would.  Very, very worth it.  Kenny rules.
  • Fed the needy at Loaves & Fishes today: baked ziti, to be specific.  This guy told Dan how to “make a tattoo:” just boil down some plastic bags and mix it with shampoo for ink, and use a sewing needle and a mechanical pencil.  Fantastic idea. You heard it here first, folks!
  • Dan has a bicycle!!!!!!!!!
  • Gave Dad a digital picture frame for Father’s Day, and he seemed really excited.  All pre-loaded with a million family photos.  Was repaid in much strawberry shortcake and fresh hydrangeas from Mom.
