walking around with your memory
February 17, 2008
Recently, everybody in town has been sick. I successfully avoided the sick wave at the office, the sick wave amongst my friends, etc. I thought it was safe to go back in the water. But then we went out Friday night, and today I have a sore throat. It’s unfortunate that avoiding germs means no contact with other human beings whatsoever, because it’s hard to keep that up for long.

I posted a lot of photos today of random stuff we’ve done in the past month. Going out for the sixmonthiversary, fixing up the practice space, going to the circus, valentine’s day. I made the most difficult dessert of my life, Chocolate and Raspberry Heart Napoleons, thanks to Martha. Difficult not because of any particular task, but because of having to do a lot at once, and getting every dish in the house dirty. Unfortunately the only heart-shaped cookie cutters I had were the ones that had a bite already taken out of them, so the dessert looked silly from the get-go. But it was delicious.

This weekend we had homemade pasta at Anne Teske’s and saw the Two Man Gentleman Band at Cous Cous. Yesterday we put in a mail slot at the Jonah House, and then Dan was sick so mostly I worked on some art ideas for Bruce and put a blue streak in my hair. Dyeing hair takes way too long; I’m still waiting for a shortcut to be invented. This morning we had breakfast at 821 with Jason M. and Catherine, and ran into some certain lovely ladies that may or may not be of the WELC persuasion. This afternoon, Dan taught me how to play dominoes, a feat attempted unsuccessfully several years ago. Grocery shopping today we ran into basically everyone we know. We just made broccoli rabe, rice, and veg nuggets and ate them with Blake. The boys are downstairs doing Wii Bowling. Anyway, the pictures tell the story best, as always. Enjoy.
